The Court of Night
Unlike the four lords, The Court of Night were exiled by the elves to exist in a dark mirror of the world. A prison beyond the world was constructed and became a place where only the darkest creatures could thrive, The Black Beyond. Once every year, the borders between the planes of reality that the citizens of Ossinett inhabit and the borders of the Black Beyond blur into the darkest day of the year. It is believed that this night brings spirits and monsters to the world of Ossinett, however, non-believers view this as superstition and nothing more. This date is called Noelintide and is a sombre day of reflection on the darkest reaches of the world's histories and a day where old grievances are often laid to rest. A traditional practice is to don a black cloak or the guise of a spirit or spectre and visit the home of someone this "spirit" has had a feud with during the year they wish to put to rest and apologise on behalf of themselves.
Those born on Noelintide are often marked in a way similar to the markings of the Solstices of the Four Lords, with markings of birthmarks or discolouration in patches across the skin. These patches appear white or grey and have the same texture as the rest of the skin, but will often take jagged, dramatic shapes. People with Noelintide markings are often shunned by followers of the Four Lords, viewed as being untrustworthy or out of fear of catching such affliction.
