Minor Houses & Lords of Cornay
Many other minor lords and houses exist within the nation of Cornay, however, the political sway they hold is often minimal - often being sworn to serve under other houses as bannermen or, in the case of individuals, household knights. Any noble is given the right to heraldry and a house name, with newly-annointed nobles often inventing their own name and heraldry. Not every noble is a knight, however, as the title of Ser is a reward given to those who serve as squires and spend years training their knightly skills. Only Knights may use the title of Ser and are required to abide by a code of chivalry and knighthood, those who break that can have their knighthood stripped from them and declared "False Knight" by the crown.
